What is the Adventure for Good Grant?

The grant is for people taking on game-changing challenges to raise money for charity, the kind of bold adventures that push limits and turn heads. Whether you’re running back-to-back marathons, navigating wild terrain, or tackling an insane endurance feat, givestar is here to back you all the way. No fluff - just straight-up financial support for things like equipment, travel, and entry fees to fuel your mission so you can make a big impact for charity

Who can apply?

This grant is for everyday people planning extraordinary feats - think rowing oceans, scaling peaks, or embarking on unique endurance missions to raise funds for a cause. It doesn’t matter if you’ve already started fundraising elsewhere, as long as you’re fundraising for a UK or US based charity, and are over 18 - you’re eligible!

you could join these legends

Sam king

Sam ran an ultra-marathon every single day for 79 days. Straight up. Why? To raise funds for Headway UK after his mum suffered a brain injury. The grant helped him to cover the costs of social media and content help.

Seas the day

Last year, Jess and Mims became the first female duo to row the entire Pacific Ocean to raise money for The Outward Bound Trust. The 8,000+ mile journey was non-stop and unsupported and they used their grant to pay for the 6 months of food they took with them.

Liam O'Keeffe

Liam used his grant to pay for a special mountain chair, which he then summited Kilimanjaro in. More than a decade after a rugby injury left him paralysed, he wanted to give back to the Injured Players Foundation who supported him.

Mitch Hutchcraft

Mitch decided a normal triathlon wasn’t enough, so he went from England to the summit of Mt. Everest. Yep, a triathlon to Everest. He raised funds for veterans’ mental health and wildlife conservation organisation SAVSIM, and the grant helped cover visas along the way.

FAQs

Who can apply?

This grant is for people planning extraordinary feats to raise funds for a cause. It doesn’t matter if you’ve already started fundraising elsewhere, as long as you’re fundraising for a UK or US based charity, and are over 18 - you’re eligible!

Is my challenge big enough?

People ask this one a lot! If what you’re planning makes people do a double take, then you’re along the right lines. We’re looking for people who want to push the boundaries, set records, and do things which haven’t been done before. Unsure? Drop us a message and we’ll be able to give you a steer

Do I have to raise money for charity?

Yes, there needs to be a charity fundraising element to your challenge because we are a fundraising platform! Unfortunately this part is non-negotiable for us.

My plans aren’t fully formed yet, can I still apply?

Definitely! As well as providing financial support via the grant, we also help fundraisers with campaign planning, gaining corporate sponsorships, building an audience online and more.

I already have a fundraising page set up elsewhere, is that an issue?

Not at all! If you have a page set up already, either on givestar or another fundraising site, it’s not a dealbreaker - it’s a positive sign if anything! We will require you to continue your fundraising on givestar, so as long as you’re happy to move over (we can help you with this), that’s all that matters.

what can i spend the grant money on?

The grant money is to help you to cover the costs of your challenge - it’s not a donation to the charity or fundraising page itself and will be sent directly to your bank account. Past recipients have used the funding to pay for equipment like boots or oars, flights, visas, accommodation and entry fees.

I’m fundraising as a team, can I apply?

The Adventure for Good Grant is aimed at individual fundraisers or small team challenges, but not larger mass participation events. The majority of recipients are individuals but we have also welcomed teams of 2, 3 or 4 in the past.

How do you choose who gets a share of the grant?

Once all applications close, our panel, which consists of previous recipients and the givestar team, meet to discuss how we allocate the grant pot. It’s based on a number of factors and may not be split evenly between all recipients.

When will i hear back?

Applications close at midnight on 20th February 2026. After this date, our panel will meet to discuss how the funds will be distributed. We will let ALL applicants know whether they’ve been successful by 6th March.

WHAT IS givestar?

Not heard of us? Where’ve you been?! We’re making waves in the fundraising industry; we’ve built a fundraising platform fit for the next generation. Our innovative tech makes fundraising a breeze, so you can hit your goals quicker, and focus on your challenge instead!
