1. About Us

givestar is operated by TapTap Giving Ltd (United Kingdom) and TapTap Giving US Inc (United States), together trading as givestar ("givestar", "we", "us", or "our").

The entity responsible for providing the Services may depend on your location and how you use the platform.

2. Acceptance of These
Terms

These Terms govern your access to and use of the givestar platform.

By creating an account or using the platform, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree, you must not use the platform.

3. Who These Terms Apply To

These Terms apply to individual users who create and use a givestar account. An account created under these Terms is a personal user account and is governed by these Terms when used for individual fundraising or personal use of the platform.

If, at any point, you are granted access to additional features, permissions, or functionality in connection with a charity (including administrative or management capabilities), your use of those features may be subject to separate charity-specific terms, policies, or agreements, which will apply in addition to these Terms.

Nothing in these Terms overrides or replaces any charity-specific terms that may apply to your use of the platform in a charity-related capacity.

4. Eligibility and Account
Requirements

To use givestar, you must:

• meet the minimum age required under applicable law (and be at least 13 years old)
• provide accurate, current, and complete information
• use your real name as used in everyday life
• maintain only one account
• keep your login credentials secure

You must not:

• share access to your account
• transfer or sell your account
• use the platform on behalf of another person without permission

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these requirements.

5. The Services We Provide

givestar provides a digital platform that enables you to:

• create and manage fundraising activities
• collect donations for charities via approved methods
• connect with charities, supporters, and other users
• share fundraising content and updates
• discover campaigns and causes

givestar provides a technology platform only. We do not act as a trustee, fiduciary, or agent for users, donors, or charities, and we do not control how funds are used by charities or third-party partners.

6. Fundraising Rules and
Acceptable Use

You agree that you will not:

• misrepresent yourself, a charity, or the purpose of a fundraiser
• raise funds for unlawful, misleading, or unauthorised purposes
• engage in fraud, deception, or financial abuse
• upload or share unlawful, offensive, or harmful content
• infringe intellectual property rights
• circumvent platform safeguards or security features

We may remove content, restrict activity, suspend fundraising, or terminate accounts where necessary to protect users, charities, or third-party partners, or to comply with legal obligations.

7. Donations and Payments

Donations made through the givestar platform are processed via trusted third-party payment providers and partners.

givestar facilitates the collection and onward transmission of donations but does not itself act as a payment service provider or issuing bank.

You acknowledge that:

• payment transactions are subject to card scheme rules and authorisation decisions of payment providers

• donations may be declined, delayed, reversed, or subject to review due to factors outside givestar’s control (including fraud checks, insufficient funds, network issues, or regulatory requirements)
• fees may be applied in accordance with payment provider or charity arrangements

PayPal giving fund (united states)

In the United States, givestar partners with PayPal Giving Fund (“PPGF”), a registered 501(c)(3) public charity, to enable donations to support charities. Where this applies:

• donations are made to PPGF and not directly to the selected charity
• PPGF makes grants to charities recommended by its donors, in accordance with its terms and policies. PPGF retains sole discretion over the onward granting of funds
• givestar does not control, guarantee, or direct the distribution of those funds

givestar does not guarantee that donations will be received by a charity within a specific timeframe or at all, including where third-party partners are involved.

8. Fees

Users are not charged to create an account or fundraise on givestar.

Payment processing fees may apply to donations and are determined by payment providers and/or charity arrangements. Further information is available on our website.

9. Data Protection and
Privacy

We collect and process personal data in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

Personal data is used to:

• provide and operate the platform
• enable fundraising activity
• prevent fraud and misuse
• improve and personalise the user experience

10. Platform Changes and
Availability

We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the platform at any time.

We do not guarantee that the platform will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free.

11. Suspension and
Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you:

• breach these Terms
• engage in unlawful or fraudulent activity
• create risk to givestar, charities, users, or third-party partners

We may take such action without notice where required to comply with legal or regulatory obligations or to prevent harm.

12. Intellectual Property

All platform content, software, branding, and technology are owned by givestar or its licensors.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the platform for personal use only.

13. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death, personal injury, fraud, or any liability that cannot legally be excluded.

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• givestar is not liable for indirect or consequential losses
• we do not guarantee fundraising success or donation levels
• givestar is not responsible for the actions or decisions of charities or third-party partners (including PayPal Giving Fund)
• our liability is limited to foreseeable losses directly caused by our breach of these Terms

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

Where changes are material, we will provide reasonable notice. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Governing Law and
Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, except where mandatory local laws apply.
